Before settling on my 3-series sedan, I took home a white X3 from the dealer for a short time. Well, took to my apartment in UT’s west campus. This was 2004ish, maybe? And I thought I had long ago lost every photo I had of it, but I was digging through some old files and found one!

Did you try its insane off-road capabilities?? Like drive it over a sidewalk?? Or maybe in the wet grass, granted that it’s flat?? :)

I bleed blue and white, but i hated riding in my mother-in-law’s X3 with a passion. Rough ride, uncomfortable seats, etc.

I found it wholly unsuitable for driving around a major university campus. That’s a big reason I went with the sedan. It was hard to park, hard to drive around tiny backstreets lined with cars on both sides, etc, etc.

Campus and neighborhood streets are very similar to Japanese residential roads. Very small roads, and usually people park both up and down both sides wherever they can, so you can find it difficult to have two lanes of traffic passing. Many of the roads are now one way, but not all of them.

One of my brothers drove a 3000GT VR4 as an undergrad. The only reason why he ever got rid of it was because he bought an NSX-T.

Also, this is why the Southern Gentlemen are a laughing stock. I’m sorry, but for years Omicron not just ignored but flaunted the fact they were ignoring both university policy and national policy, and then nationals took them back. Fuck that shit.

Agree. O did whatever the hell they wanted, whenever the hell they wanted. I was trying to figure out who the Alum was that made it possible for the University and Nationals to bow to the chapter.

I can’t help it. Whenever I look at this car I remember why I hate SUVs so much. Such pointless monstrosities. I don’t hate big impractical cars, in fact I daily drive one. But these things just seem so flat-out wrong. They’re frauds, that’s what they are.
Sorry for the outburst of hatred. I really dislike SUVs, and the X3 is one of the main offenders in my book.
